Virgil Edward Kent

Marion Virgil Edward Kent, 80, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas formerly of Marion, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at his home. Mr. Kent was born August 2, 1925 in Marion to Roland and Eva (Watson) Kent. He married Clorice Thweatt and she survives of Cherokee village, Arkansas. He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served during WWII. Mr. Kent was retired from General Motors; he was of the Baptist Faith. He was a member of the Cherokee Village American Legion Post #346. Survivors include: Wife Clorice Kent of Cherokee Village, Arkansas Son Marvin E. Kent of Mountain Home, Arkansas Daughter Patricia J. Miller of Indianapolis, Indiana Sister Cecile Eaton of Cutler, Illinois Five Grandchildren: Michael, Katherine and Matthew Miller Mercedes Kent Crystal Deems Two sons by a previous marriage, Danny B. Kent and Roland E. Kent. Preceded by Parents, Sister Gladys Kent and Brother Bill Kent. Graveside services will be Friday, March 3, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Maplewood Cemetery with Pastor Tom Sprague officiating. Military rites will be performed by Marions VFW Post #1301 and American Legion Post #147. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. For those who prefer memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and will be accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home.
