Virgil N. Glisson

Tuscola - Virgil "Norm" Glisson, 76, of Tuscola, formerly of Herrin died at 11:05 a. m. in Mason, IL at his daughter's residence. Mr. Glissom was born August l, l925 in Bush, IL to Ervin and Zora Riley in Bush, IL. He married Katherine M. Bradshaw and she survives of Tuscola, IL. He was a coal miner for Zeigler Coal Mines in Tuscola, IL. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy in World War II. He enjoyed being with his family and going to church. He was a member of the Camargo Pentecostal Church in Camargo, IL. Survivors include: Wife - Katherine M. Glisson - Tuscola, IL Children - Karen and Denton Nelson - Mason, IL Deon Glisson - Effingham, IL Butch & Lonnie Glisson - DeSoto, IL Randy Joe Glisson - Marion, IL 10 grandchildren 15 great grandchildren Several nieces and nephews His parents, two brothers, Don and Jack Glisson, two sisters, Josie Alexander and Margaret Glisson and one grandson Michael Glisson preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2001 at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Wayne Lucas will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Elkville Cemetery in Elkville, IL. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
