Virginia Sue Graves, age 69, of Marion, died Tuesday, September 4th, 2001 at 8:20 A.M. at Barnes Jewish Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
Visitation for Mrs. Graves was from 5:00-9:00 P.M. Thursday, September 6th at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion, and continued at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 7th at Third Baptist Church in Marion. The funeral service was at 11:00 A.M. at the church. It was officiated by Dr. Jerry Ford. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion.
She was born November 25, 1931 in Marion to Ed & Gussie (Barth) McRoy. She married Marvin Graves on November 26, 1948 in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1988. Mrs. Graves was retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield, where she had worked in Customer Relations. She was a member of Third Baptist Church in Marion.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ron & Rhonda Graves of Marion; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen & John Voda of Hopewell Junction, New York and Susan & Ron Murray of Chester, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Ryan Graves, and Scott (& his wife Dana) Graves of Marion; Brook & Lindsey Keliher of St. Louis, Missouri; Tim, Keith, & Brett Murray of Chester. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene & Vernell McRoy, and one sister, Katherine Parks.
