Marion Waldo L. Popenhagen, 66, passed away Thursday, June 09, 2005 at 8:25 P.M. at his residence.
Waldo was born November 07, 1938 in Hobart, Indiana to Walter & Lena (Boy) Popenhagen. He married Susan Hope Fields Mink on January 14, 1995 in Whittington, Illinois. She survives in Marion.
Waldo retired from US Steel in Hobart, Indiana. He worked at Bombardier in Benton. Waldo was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving his country in the Marine Corp. He was a member of 1st Pentecostal Church in Herrin.

Funeral services will be Sunday, June 12, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Michael Tetmeyer and Rev. Joe Elias officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Military services will be performed by VFW Post #1301 and American Legion Post #147 of Marion. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
