Wallace R Hughes

Wallace R. Hughes, 67, of Marion died Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at his home. Wallace was the youngest of five children born to Lewis and Ruby (Butler) Hughes of Williamson County. He was united in marriage to Jill Eveland Malin on September 22, 1984 at Pleasant Valley Club. She survives in Marion A former coalminer, Wallace had worked for both Zeigler and Old Ben Coal Companies. He retired from Lafarge North America, formerly Missouri Portland Cement, after 21 years. He was a heavy equipment operator. Wallace loved the outdoors, classic cars, motorcycles and pets. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his Daughter - Angie Christensen and husband Mike of Kankakee, Son Buddy Hughes and wife Jeanette of Douglas, Wyoming, Step-Son Michael Malin of Normal, Two grandchildren, Two great grandchildren and his Sister Betty McKane of Marion. Preceded by his Parents Graveside services will be Monday, May 24, 2010 at 11 A.M. at Union Grove Cemetery. Family and friends are ask to meet directly at the cemetery. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
