Warren Neil Buescher

Warren N Buescher of Carbondale, formerly Chester, passed away Sunday, February, 3, at age 84. Warren dedicated his life to the education of children, beginning as an elementary school teacher, then as an educational administrator following the completion of his Masters in Education Administration from SIU-C, and to his family with wife Ruth Buescher.  He was an active member in the Lions Club for over 60 years. Warren was born on January 26, 1935 in Steeleville, to Elmer "Tom" Buescher and Verna Holm Buescher Gerlach.  He is survived by his four children, Scott (son), Diane (nee Nance, daughter-in-law) and Ben (grandson) Buescher, Tom Buescher (son), Beth (nee Buescher, daughter), Randy (son-in-law), Bailey & Brennan (granddaughters) Ballard, Karrie Buescher (daughter), Elaine Buescher Kattenbraker (sister) with children Phil, Dan and Mark Kattenbraker (nephews), and wife Sue Lipe Buescher with two children and four grandchildren.   Preceding him in death is his wife of 44 years, Ruth Hartmann Buescher, who passed on May 19, 2001, and niece Kathy Kattenbraker, who passed on June 22, 2016 and brother in-law Roger Kattenbraker, who passed on July 6, 2015. A service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Jackson, MO, on February 15 at 11:00am.  Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church, Chester, or the Lions Club, either Chester or Carbondale chapter. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 16th at 2 pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church on University in Carbondale.
