Wendell Lynn Flener

Royalton- Wendell Lynn Flener, age 69, passed away at 6:45pm on Friday, July 19, 2019 at Benton Rehab and Nursing.

Wendell was born in Christopher on December 26, 1949, the son of Ray Allen and Irene (Treice) Flener. He married Helen Sue Farris in September 2009 at the Bates Campground, in the most unique and wonderful ceremony.

Wendell had worked as a police officer for many years in Royalton. He later worked as a truck driver until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife Sue Flener of Sesser

Daughter- Laura and David Yackley of Christopher

Son- Ray Allen Flener of West Frankfort

Daughter- Dottie Flener of West Frankfort

Daughter- Mary Jo and Bryan Boyden of Lake of Egypt

Daughter- Cathy and Tim Epperson of Sellersburg, IN

Daughter- Brenda and Scott Pauly of Benton

11 grandchildren

7 great grandchildren

As per Wendell’s wishes, he will be cremated. The family will hold private memorial services at a later date. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with final arrangements.
