Marion- Wilbert C. Will Jacobs, 79, of Merritt Island, FL, formerly of Marion, passed away at 4:10 AM, Saturday, December 31, 2005 at Wuesthoff Medical Center in Rockledge. Will was born on April 7, 1926 in St. Louis, MO to Henry & Florence (Boetcher) Jacobs. He married Martha Johnston on April 15, 1963 in St. Louis, MO. She preceded him in death on May 27, 2001. Mr. Jacobs served in the US Army from August 11, 1944 to November 16, 1946. He was a retired federal employee, working the last 26 years of his career in St. Louis for the Farmers Home Administration and USDA. He retired in 1984 and moved to Marion. He was a member of Parish Park Christian Church, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the Southern Illinois Train Club, the John A. Logan College Community Band and the Merry Melodies Band. SURVIVORS: Son & daughter in law- Anton K. & Jean Jacobs- Kansas City, MO Son & daughter in law- Jeffrie C. & Nancy Jacobs- Merritt Island, FL Son- Douglas L. Jacobs- St. Charles, MO Daughter in law- Bethany Jacobs- St. Charles, MO Brother & sister in law- Donald A. & Shirley Jacobs- Granite City, IL Grandchildren- Laura, J. David, Lindsey, Lacey & Zach Brother in law & sister in law- Dare & Mary Bauer- Marion Two nephews & one niece Two great nieces & one great nephew Twenty six cousins He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, January 6, 2005 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Pastor Randy Allison will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service, Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Parish Park Christian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
