Willard B. Brafford

Herrin-Willard Brad Brafford, 78, died 8:25 A.M., on Friday, August 8, 2003 at his residence. Willard was born May 15, 1925 in Bush to Bruce & Viola (Haynes) Brafford. He married Venita (Cooley) on August 20, 1980. Venita survives. He was a retired Utility Foreman from CIPS with 32 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He served on the USS Melvin in the Pacific Theater from 1943-1945. He was a member of the Herrin First Christian Church.He served on the Herrin Unit 4 school board for 12 years. He was also a member of the Gump Stump Sportsmans Society in Florida. Survivors Include: Wife: Venita Brafford of Herrin Son: David Brafford & wife Cheryl of Orange Park, FL. Daughter: Darla Dee Brafford of Penn Valley, CA. Stepsons: John Scott Hartline & Travis Seffren of Phoenix, AZ. Stepson: Jeffrey Hartline & wife Heather of Herrin Stepdaughter: Laura Stucker of Herrin Six Grandchildren: Shannon Ettinger & husband Ike of Orange Park, FL. Jeffery Brafford & wife Kym of Orange Park, FL. Kyrie Judd of Herrin Jacob Hartline of Herrin Reice Hartline of Herrin Trenton Stucker of Herrin Two Great Grandchildren: Dylan Ettinger of Orange Park, FL. Landon Brafford of Orange Park, FL. Sister: Pauline Brafford & special friend Delores Froehlich of Elmhurst, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Raleigh Bruce Brafford, three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. William Bohannon officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be 6:00 to 9:00 P.M., Monday, August 11, 2003 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
