Marion-William Grider, 90, passed away at 8:10 A.M., Sunday, January 23, 2005 at Parkway Estates in Marion. Jake was born December 31, 1914 to Leo A. & Laura M. (Mayberry) Grider in Sandoval, Illinois. He married Cleo Quertermous in Jackson, Missouri on February 14, 1942 and she preceded him in death on November 9, 1993. He later married Verna Angell in Paducah, Kentucky and she survives in Marion. Jake worked as a coal miner for 45 years. He was a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church and a 50 year member of Marion Masonic Lodge #89 A.F. & A.M. Jake is survived by: His Wife Verna of Marion Step-Son Marlin & Denise Angell of Germantown, TN Step-Daughter Janel & Mark Loucks of Glen Carbon, IL Four Step Grandchildren: Jared & Sarah Angell of Israel Brittany Angell of Germantown, TN Alexandria Loucks of Glen Carbon, IL Three Brothers: Charles H. & Tillie Grider of Donahue, Iowa Leo K. Grider of Marion Dennis P. & Connie Grider of Abingdon, IL Two Sisers: Clara Dean Lombard of Reeseville, WI Eva Lorena Squire of Jeffersonville, IN Preceded by: Parents, First Wife Cleo and Two Brothers Edward & Louis Grider Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Joye Perry & Rev. Roger Russell officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery in Energy. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Masonic services will be Tuesday at 7:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home. For those who prefer memorials can be given to the Aldersgate New Life Group. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
