William Franklin Stephenson

Herrin William Franklin Stephenson, 88, passed away at 1:20 A.M. on Tuesday, November 07, 2006 at the VA Hospital in Marion. William was born July 31, 1918 in Carterville to Thomas and Dorcia (Lambert) Stephenson. He married Addie Sisk on February 7, 1946 in Marion and together they have shared the last 60 years of marriage. She survives in Herrin. William was a WWII veteran, proudly serving in the Air Force for over 20 years; he then worked for Norge for 20 years. Survivors include: Wife Addie Stephenson of Herrin Four Sons: Bill Stephenson of Herrin Albert Stephenson of Bush Herman Stephenson of Herrin Tom Stephenson and wife Joyce of Herrin Daughter Jean Meracle of Herrin Seven Grandchildren Six Great Grandchildren Preceded by his parents. Graveside services will be Thursday, November 9, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Herrin City Cemetery with Rev. R.H. Chitwood officiating. Military rites will be performed by Herrins VFW and American Legion Post. Family and friends are ask to meet directly at the cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 8:00 P.M. at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
