William H. Odum

Marion- WILLIAM H. ODUM, age 92, of Marion, passed away at 2:35pm on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Mount Vernon Health Care Center. William was born in Creal Springs on September 25, 1916, the son of Add and Hattie (Henson) Odum. He married Chloe Wells and she preceded him in death. Mr. Odum was a member of Cana Baptist Church and member of the UMWA. Survivors include his son- Danny and Lori Odum of Marion, IL Three granddaughters- Kim Peaches (Odum) Emery of Marion, IL Sandy (Odum) Leeper of Marion, IL Pammy (Odum) Leonard of Marion, IL Great Granddaughter- Lonna Emery of Marion, IL Step-son- Johnny and Judy Monteith of Herrin, IL Sister- Alice Jordan of Marion, IL Brother- Henry Odum of Portland, Oregon Sister- Dorothy Oliver of East Peoria, IL Sister- Ollie Horn of Marion, IL Special friend- Shirley Woods of Marion, IL Several Nieces and nephews William was preceded in death by his parents, his wife- Chloe, an infant daughter, three brothers- Coy, George and Add Odum, Jr., and three sisters- Jewel Dielcnbach, Henrietta Fry, and Mary White. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Brother Ed martin officiating. Burial will follow at Ferrell Baptist Church Cemetery in Crab Orchard. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the funeral home.
