William Henry Krantz

William Henry Krantz, 69, of Herrin, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 5:08 pm at Herrin Hospital. William was born April 1, 1947 in Johnston City the son of Richard and Catherine (Borchelt) Krantz. He married Debra Dorris on June 15, 1968 in Zeigler and together they have shared over 47 years of marriage. He was a Vietnam veteran, proudly serving in the Army for 13 years. William was retired after working as a security guard. Survivors include his; Wife – Debra Krantz of Herrin Daughter – Melanie Krantz of Herrin Step-sister – Malinda Childers of Harrisburg Aunt-Gloria Hopkins of Murphysboro Cousin-Marcia Chew of DeSoto Cousin-Greg McRoberts of Murphysboro Brother-in-law-Gary Dorris (Kay) of Scottsdale, AZ Preceded by his Parents, step-father – Carlyle Williams and daughter Teresa Krantz. Funeral services will be Monday, May 23, 2016 at 12 pm at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow in Egyptian Memorial Gardens. Military rites will be presented by members of the Herrin VFW and American Legion Post with assistance from the National Guard. Visitation will be Monday from 10 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
