William L. Bennett

Marion- WILLIAM L. BENNETT, age 69, of Marion, passed away at 12:30pm on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Fountains Nursing Home in Marion. William was born in Blue Island on July 29, 1940, the son of Willard Vernon and Mary Alice (McKinnon) Bennett. He married Susan Smith in Downers Grove, IL on September 5, 1964. She survives in Marion. Mr. Bennett was a member of St. James Episcopal Church. He was a United States Army Veteran. William was a grocery produce manager. Survivors include his wife- Susan Bennett of Marion One son- Williams A. Bennett of Marion Three Daughters- Brenda Johnson of Paducah, KY Amy Simelton of Fort Bragg, NC Amanda White of South Beloit, IL Five Grandchildren Eight Great Grandchildren One sister- Barbara Schooley of Yellville, AR He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother- Robert Bennett, and two sisters- Patricia Henderson and Jeri Shire. As per his wishes, his body will be cremated. There will be no services. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home is assisting the family.
