Herrin-William L. Masters, 68, of Herrin passed away at 10:51 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004 in the Herrin Hospital William was born Aug. 18, 1936, in Bush to Vernon and Georgia (Yates) Masters. He married Mary Ann Miles on Nov. 7, 1956 in Misawaka, IN. William was a retired Coal Miner from Freeman #6.He was a member of the Herrin Eagles ( Golden Eagle), Air Force Veteran, United Mine Workers of America and a member of the VFW. He loved camping and fishing, but mostly enjoyed his Grandchildren. Survivors include son Bill L. Masters of Raleigh, NC. Son-Mark Masters-Herrin, IL. Son-Brett Masters-Herrin, IL. Son & Dtr in law-Bart & Cathy Masters-Kingsport, TN. Dau & Son in law-Melinda & Frank Wheatley-Royalton, IL. Thirteen Grandchildren-Sean, Brandon, Brian, Joey, Michael, Alyssa, Ashley, Courtney, Blake, Scotty, Jordan, Brendon & Tory One Great Grandson-Colin Bro & Sis in law-Derril & Jolene Masters-FL. Several Neices and Nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son Blair Masters, One sister Marilyn King and dtr in law Robin Masters Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin, with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow in Blairsville Cemetery.Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004 at the funeral home from 6 th 9 P.M.
