William O. "Bill" Michel

Herrin- William O. Bill Michel, 54, of Herrin, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at his home. Bill was born on May 13, 1953 in Chicago to Walter C. & Elizabeth (Furbish) Michel. He married Donna Kuhnke on May 26, 1984 in Lansing, IL. She survives of Herrin. He worked as retail manager at Woolworths and Blue Star. Mr. Michel was of Methodist faith and formerly played the piano at Hafer Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading Patricia Cromwell novels, listening to classical music and watching sports, especially the Chicago Cubs. Survivors include- Wife- Donna Michel of Herrin Son & daughter in law- Randy & Nancy McClure of St. Louis, MO Two Grandchildren- Ryan & Tony Davis of Johnston City Great Grandchild- Brandon Davis of Davenport, IA Great Grandchildren- Jacob & Samara Davis of Johnston City Brother & sister in law- Ken & Ruth Michel of Orland Park, IL Brother- Jeff Michel of Iowa Several nieces & nephews He was preceded in death by his parents and two great grandchildren- Jade & Shealynn Davis. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service, Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to the Muscular Dystrophy Association and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 S. 13th St/ Herrin, IL 62948.
