Marion William Paul Kent, 80, died Friday, March 25, 2005 at 3:10 A.M. in Shawnee Christian Nursing Home in Herrin.
Paul was born September 10, 1924 to Fay Foster & Verna (Cummings) Kent in Williamson County. He married Orma Elizabeth Inman on July 13, 1948 in Piggott, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2004.
Paul was a hard rock miner in Arizona. He served his county during WWII in the U.S. Army. He was member of the 509 Paratroopers, who dropped on the German line; Paul was one of 70 who survived from 500 troopers. He received a Purple Heart, served in the European Theater, in Italy, Germany and France.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Lake Creek Cemetery with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is in charge of arrangements.
