William Paul Kent

Marion William Paul Kent, 80, died Friday, March 25, 2005 at 3:10 A.M. in Shawnee Christian Nursing Home in Herrin. Paul was born September 10, 1924 to Fay Foster & Verna (Cummings) Kent in Williamson County. He married Orma Elizabeth Inman on July 13, 1948 in Piggott, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2004. Paul was a hard rock miner in Arizona. He served his county during WWII in the U.S. Army. He was member of the 509 Paratroopers, who dropped on the German line; Paul was one of 70 who survived from 500 troopers. He received a Purple Heart, served in the European Theater, in Italy, Germany and France. Paul is survived by: Son George Kent of Prescott, AZ Daughter Connie Daniels of Nevada Daughter-in-law Cornelia Kent of Prescott, AZ Three Grandchildren Three Great Grandchildren Brother Charles Kent of Mt. Vernon Sisters: Dorothy Fehr of Baltimore, Maryland Doris Mae Webb of Johnston City Kathryn Sue Donaldson of St. Louis, MO Preceded by: Parents, Wife Orma, Son Dwight Kent, Granddaughter Kimberly Daniels, Brothers Jackie Kent, Clyde Kent, Forrest Kent and Sisters Alfreda Kent, Mildred Bearden, Vita Emery and Dorcas Ann Moore. Graveside services will be Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Lake Creek Cemetery with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is in charge of arrangements.
