Wilma Ann Dzengolewski

Marion- Wilma Ann Dzengolewski, 71, of Marion, passed away at 9:37 AM, Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Wilma Ann was born on June 17, 1938 in Carbondale to Melvin Claire & Clara Louise (Travelstead) Saunders. She was retired after teaching twenty eight years at Marion Junior high School. She was a cook for the Marion Rotary Club and a long-time volunteer at Heartland Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Marion First United Methodist Church and the Marion Lions Club. She was an avid golfer and antique collector who cared for animals and enjoyed spending time at the Crab orchard Wildlife Refuge. She enjoyed crocheting baby blankets for the ladies at the Shawnee Pregnancy Crisis Center in Marion. Survivors include- Daughter- Beth Ann Stewart & husband Kenneth of Silver Springs, MD Son- Jon Brian Dzengolewski & wife Mary Kathleen of Lebanon, IL Grandchild- Krista Richele Dzengolewski Grandchild- Chastity Tartt Grandchild- Stephanie Nguyen Three Great Grandchildren Brother- John Saunders & wife Linda of Chester Nephew- Scott Saunders & wife Lindsey She was preceded in death by her parents. The funeral service will be held at 7:30 PM, Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Rev. Victor Long will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until time of service, Tuesday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. For those who prefer memorials may be made to the Marion Regional Humane Society or the Shawnee Pregnancy Crisis Center.
