Wilma Mae (Turnage) Deaton, age 85 passed away peacefully on May 23rd in Tallahassee, Fl. She was born and raised in Creal Springs, IL, but has since lived in Indiana, Texas, and the past 26 years in Tallahassee, Florida. She was married to Vernell Deaton for 43 years. She was a busy homemaker most of the time, but still found time to volunteer.
She is survived by her sisters Helen Chamness, Marion, IL, Pauline Parks (Carroll) Gary, IN, Sue Williams (Curt) Creal Springs, IL and also by her brother, Gene Turnage (Molly) Marion, IL. She is also survived by her daughters Sandra Krzeminski (Robert) of Tallahassee, FL, Ruth Geary of Tallahassee, FL, Deborah Mitchell (Randy) of Magnolia, Tx, and Vicki Morrison (Brian) of Denton, Tx. She is survived by her grandchildren James Krzeminski (Carey), Melissa Dockstader (Darryll), Jennifer Geary, Christopher Geary, Rebecca Riggs, Austin Morrison, and Ethan Morrison. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Lizzy Krzeminski, Gus Dockstader, Maria Dockstader, and Luke Krzeminski.
She was predeceased by her parents Harry & Ida Turnage, her husband, Vernell Deaton and her sisters Bessie Simmons & Ruth Parker.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 2:30 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Donelson officiating. Burial will follow in Simmons Cemetery in Creal Springs. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:30 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
