Marion- Wilma K. Barnes, 89, of Marion, passed away at 3:55 PM, Friday, May 14, 2010.
Wilma was born on May 12, 1921 in Holland, MI to Joseph and Fanny (Kars) Klinge. She married Gareth B. Barnes, MD, on November 14, 1942 in Holland, MI. He preceded her in death on September 28, 1987.
Wilma graduated from Holland High School and then from St. Marys School of Nursing in Grand Rapids, MI in 1942 as a registered nurse. She worked as secretary at Marion Bowl for many years.
She was a member of Disciples of Christ Christian Church in Marion and an active member of the Marion Womens Club since 1960 having served as president and other offices. She was also a strong supporter of local little league baseball.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister- Johanna Dykstra, brother in law- Milton Dykstra, brothers- Al & Melvin Klinge.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, May 17, 2010 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Rev. Bill Rucker will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of service, Monday at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
