Herrin - Wilma L. Moroni, 82, died at 9:40 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2002 at Herrin Hospital.
Mrs. Moroni was born January 13, 1920 in Herrin, IL to P. S. Davis and Omelia (Ashby) Davis Peak.
She married Eugene T. Moroni on October 17, 1940 in Harrisburg, IL. He survives.
She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. She was a past member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Catholic Ladies Aid Society. She was the Herrin High School Tiger Football Queen in l937 and l938. She was an accomplished artist and loved gardening, reading and bowling. She especially loved to be with family and friends.

Her parents, one son John Gregory Moroni and one daughter Rosemary Moroni, 4 sisters, Opal Welty, Gustava Davis Huffstutler, Geneva Davis Gerard Conrad, Naomi Davis Wade and two brothers, Kenneth Davis and Ruel Davis preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at OLMC Catholic Church in Herrin. Msg, Ken Schaefer and Msg. Rev. Angelo Lombardo will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. The rosary will be at 6 p. m. on Monday. Burial will be at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin.
