Wilma Tolen

Herrin- Wilma Lavada "Billie" Tolen, 82, of Herrin died at 6:20 P.M., Saturday, November 24, 2001 at Convoy Care Center in Convoy, OH. Wilma was born on September 2, 1919 in Crainville, IL to John Wesley & Lottie (DeLoach) Vaughn. She married Elmer T. Davis on October 5, 1936 in Benton, IL. He preceded her in death on January 2, 1982. She married Basil T.olen on October 12, 1984 in Marion. He preceded her in death on December 27, 1988. Mrs. Tolen was a seamstress at Smoller Bros. in Herrin and worked in factories in both Chicago and Rockford, IL. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Marion. SURVIVORS: Son & Dau in law- David Allen & Jeannie Davis- Raleigh, NC Son & Dau in law- Tommie Gene & Joyce Davis- Bellerive, IL Daughter- Diane Lynn Creek- Kansas City, Mo Dau & Son in law- Linda & Orville Vaughn- Mt. Vernon, IL Eleven Grandchildren Step son- Wayne L. Tolen- Paducah, KY Step-Daughter- Claudia Faughn- Hamletsburg, IL She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, infant daughter; Alma Loudean Davis, sister; Hazel Gentry, and one brother; Carl Vaughn. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 27, 2001 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Dr. Bob Wagner will officiate. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
