Johnston City Woodrow Wade, 89, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 11:13 A.M. at Rehab and Care Center in Murphysboro.
Woodrow was born in Johnston City on February 23, 1920, the son of Walter George and Nellie (Shrum) Wade. He married Dorothy Doerr in Marion. She preceded him in death on March 16, 2007.
Woodrow was a member of the American Legion Post #147. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1941-1943.

Woodrow was preceded in death by his parents, his wife-Dorothy, and four children- Sheila, Dale, Wilma, and Richard Wade.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 23, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Jared Morse officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery with military rites presented by Marions VFW Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and National Guard Flag Detail Unit. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5:00 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
