Zelda D. McCabe

Marion Zelda D. McCabe, 84, died on Monday, September 10, 2007 at 11:37 P.M. at Carbondale Memorial Hospital. Zelda was born February 8, 1923 in Westville, Illinois the daughter of Stefan & Mary (McCloskey) Mikel. She married Thomas Francis McCabe in 1953 in Equality and he preceded her in death on November 26, 2003. Zelda was a homemaker and a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church. She had formerly worked at Sangomo Electric and had served as an Election Judge for over 20 years. Survivors include: Two Sons; Kent McCabe of Marion Kerry Jones and wife Marsha of Harrisburg Three Grandchildren; Rodney Jones of Marion Jason Jones and wife Mindy of Harrisburg Beth Perry and husband Mike of Troy, IL Four Great Grandchildren; Hanna & Devan Jones Emma & Maddi Perry Preceded by Parents, Husband, Thomas McCabe, Four Brothers, Mike, Andy, Joe and Steve Mikel and Three Sisters, Mary Sloan, Julie Mikel and Ann Sumila The funeral mass will be Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Josephs Catholic Church with Father Richard Mohr officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 8:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home.
