Herrin- ZINEA S. ANNE BENNETT, age 91, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Herrin, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis. Zinea was born in Herrin on March 20, 1920, the daughter of Joseph A. and Grace (Copher) Saloom. Mrs. Bennett was a member of St. Marys Roman Catholic Church in Indianapolis. She had retired from Indiana Bell Telephone Company where she had worked as an administrative assistant for more than thirty-four years. Zinea was a member of the Indiana Bell Telephone Pioneers. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at Wishard Hospital, the American Heart Association, and the community centers of Indianapolis. She had retired from Indiana Bell Telephone Company where she had worked as an administrative assistant for more than thirty-four years. Survivors include her brother- Joseph A. Saloom; Nieces and nephews- Joe and Anne Saloom, Peter Saloom, Helen and Marco Rizzo, Barbara and David Capobianco, Susan Femiani, and David Saloom. A funeral mass will be held at 11am on Monday, May 2, 2011 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. A time of visitation will begin at 10am on Monday, May 2, 2011 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
